Nike Skateboarding October Update
New releases from Nike Skateboarding for October 2008. Now up on NikeSkateboarding.com, and should be at retailers as well. If you haven’t checked them out yet, now is the time. This month’s releases include the Melbourne/Golden Rail Dunk, Blazer Low, Dunk Hi “Boba Fetts” and the “Gucci” P-Rod II.
Like I said a couple times before, the Melbourne Dunks are definitely a nice look for the Dunk. Check out shots of each after the jump. |
Nike Dunk Hi Pro SB Mr. Todd Bratrud
Just when you thought Nike couldn’t do anything else to the Dunk, it drops a UFO like this. The Nike Dunk Hi Pro SB Mr. Todd Bratrud looks like a shoe created with leftover rags at the Nike factory. It is believed they are a collaboration with skateboader Todd Bratrud.
The shoe is composed of four materials: pink patent leather (swoosh), pink canvas, brown suede, and a blue-jean-like texture that covers the rear. This a very disturbing combination to say the least. Nike’s been dropping Dunks left and right lately, but maybe it would be right if they left these in the back of the closet. What do you think about them? Check out shots of each after the jump. |
Nike SB Dunk High “Boba Fett”
I know some of you sneakerheads out there are Star Wars nerds at heart. I know I am. As much as I don’t want to turn to the dark side, I can’t deny Boba Fett is my favorite character in the movie series. This Nike SB Boba Fett Dunk pays tribute to the mysterious bounty hunter. The coloring is inspired from his character in the movie. Green suede, and black leather uppers, combined with a grey midsole and some hints of yellow represent him perfectly. Star Wars fans will want to add a pair of these to your collection. It’s ok, we won’t tell anyone that you don’t actually wear them and they only sit on the shelf next to your beloved Star Wars action figure collection…I mean that’s what I’d do too, so I can’t hate.
Thanks to Vapors for the pictures. Take a closer look after the jump. |
Nike SB Zoom Tre AD Marty McFly
Earlier this year, we saw a customized Back to the Future Dunk High. Personally I was a little disappointed with those, only because I felt like the design didn’t represent the shoes Michael J. Fox, aka Marty McFly, wore when he went “Back to the Future”. These new Nike SB Zoom Tre Marty McFly’s actually take coloring and styling cues from the kicks Marty wore in the movie. Glow in the dark swoosh logos on the heels, and the light grey with teal accents are reminiscent of the “Air McFly’s”. Add to it, a speckled sole that really sets these off. Zoom Tre’s are a great shoe to skate in, rugged and comfortable, if you haven’t tried them, this would be a great release to give them a try. Maybe that glow in the dark swoosh will help keep you safe while you skate the streets at night. Rumor has it, they’ll be out this coming holiday season. Pics via NikeSB user mental therapy. Nike Sportswear Dunk High “Lakers”
Nike Sportswear Dunk High “Lakers” is a rumored upcoming release for next year. If you are a Laker fan you better cop these with the quickness! The purple leather and mesh upper will match perfect with that “Magic” throwback or that new 2009 Kobe jersey you got stashed in the closet waiting for next season. Maybe these kicks will help the “Lake Show” get back to the finals and conquer the Celtics. The soles on these Dunks are so icy, they’ll have you LA heads skatin’ all season. If I was a Laker fan these would definitely on my cop list but I’ll have to wait for those purple/black highs to match my Kings jerseys.
This shoe is due to come out sometime in 2009, but thanks to jasonwhite9 on eBay you can pick up a pair early. Check out the ridiculously icy soles and the rest of the pics after the jump. |
Nike SB Melbourne Dunk Low
We got some new pics of the Nike SB Melbourne Dunk. This Nike SB dunk pays homage to a famous skate spot in Melbourne called the Flinders Street Station. “I’ll meet you under the clocks” is a saying that as been heard for years in Melbourne. The saying refers to the clocks on this train station, which is at the intersection of two of the city’s busiest thoroughfares. The colors of this SB are inspired by the city of Melbourne, Port Philip Bay, and the Yarra river.
A combination of canvas, suede, and mesh materials in a simple colorway like this will definitely be a hot item. It is set to release in October, so check with your local skate shop, get your name on a list, do what you gotta do, to get your hands on these because they won’t stay on the shelves for long. Thanks to SneakerFreaker for the pictures. More pics after the jump. |
