Nike Zoom Lebron 6 United We Rise Online Release!
On August 24, 2008, LeBron James and the Redeem Team accomplished their mission in Beijing bringing home the Gold Medal in Men’s Basketball where it belongs. For the epic championship game, LeBron James debuted the Nike Zoom LeBron 6 in a special United We Rise colorway.
A special “Witness Gold” edition of the shoes were released to the tune of only 66 pairs domestically at the House Of Hoops last month, but now the United We Rise edition is available online at Nike Store. Definitely a must have for any LeBron fanatic. |
University of Texas Nike Hyperdunk for Maui Invitational
At the beginning of every NCAA basketball season, eight teams across the nation trek to Hawaii to participate in one of NCAA’s most heralded basketball tournaments: The Maui Invitational. The University of Texas travels to Hawaii this weekend to take part in its third ever Maui Invitational; however, check out the Hawaii-themed Hyperdunk they will be hooping in.
The ‘Maui’ Texas Hyperdunk is arguably one of the best colorways we have seen thus far. They feature a Burnt Orange/White colorway with the UT logo on the tongue of the sneaker. Burnt orange is featured heavily on the shoe, namely the flywire design. The most interesting feature on these PEs is the Maui, Hawaii-themed flower print seen throughout the sneaker. We haven’t seen the other team’s PEs but we think it is safe to say the UT ‘Maui’ Hyperdunk will be the hottest sneaker in Hawaii. Check out detailed pictures of this PE after the jump plus an original Black/Burnt colorway of the Nike UT Hyperdunk. If you missed it, check out other college PEs from Kentucky, North Carolina, Memphis, Syracuse, and Oregon. |
Nike Zoom Kobe 4
Reigning MVP winner Kobe Bryant will be dropping his fourth signature sneaker, the Nike Zoom Kobe 4, on January 17th, 2009.
Possessing some very unique qualities, this sneaker does not look like a typical basketball sneaker. Wrapped in a Los Angeles Lakers colorway, this sneaker features a black leather upper with purple and yellow accents on the swoosh, shoelaces, and heel. Another interesting feature is the translucent midsole and the black reptile print found on the toe box and heel area. The words “Carpe Diem”, which means ’seize the day’ in Latin, is imprinted, in gold, on the tongue of the shoe. A white version is expected to drop later in 2009. Check out more detailed pics after the jump. Via Footlocker Unlocked. While we have yet to see Kobe hoop in these this season, check out the Nike Hyperdunk/Kobe 4 hybrid he has been wearing as of late. |
Footwear Faceoff - UNC Jordan Jumpman Pro vs. Kentucky Hyperdunk
Last night, one of the most heralded college basketball rivalries took place in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The UNC Tar Heels demolished the University of Kentucky Wildcats on national TV; however, that was not the only battle that took place on the hardwood.
The Air Jordan Jumpman Team Pro and the Nike Hyperdunk have been a constant force on the pro level, and it seems the college hardwoods are populated with them as well. Most of the Tar Heels sported Jumpman PEs in a White/Carolina Blue colorway with the school logo right below the Jumpman sign. High school basketball recruits have, or will choose UNC over many schools just because of its Jordan affiliation. What a nice recruiting tool! On the other side, UK players sported a royal blue/white Nike Hyperdunk PE with its school logo on the tongue. This is very similar to the Kentucky PE we showed you earlier this month. |
Nike Zoom Lebron 6 “Yankees”
Last March Lebron came to the Garden in a big way that went much further than his Yankees Lebron 5’s. James lead the Cavs to victory with an unbelieveable performance putting up 50 points, pulling down 10 rebounds, and feeding 8 assists. A special “Yankees” Nike Zoom Lebron 6 was released at the House of Hoops in part of their week long 1 year anniversary celebration.
Besides the obvious color connection to the Yankees, the shoes draw reference to LeBron’s incredible performance with “50 - 10 - 8″ branded inside the tongue as well as the date of the game (3/5/08) on the heel. For those who were not able to get them in person, they are availble online at osneaker.com for $225. More shots of the shoes after the break. |
Nike Bizness - Zach Randolph PE
Knicks guard Quentin Richardson has been spotted throughout our Kicks On Court wearing some exclusive Jordan PEs in the New York Knicks colorway; however, he is not the only Knick in the Big Apple gracing the hardwood in PEs.
Zach Randolph has been sporting the Nike Bizness in the New York Knicks colorway lately. They feature a blue patent leather on the toe box and heel, while containing orange accents on the midsole, inner lining, and border of the swoosh. An interesting feature these kicks possess is a silhouette of the New York skyline in black on the side panels. ‘Z-BO’, Randolph’s nickname, is visible on the heel of the shoe in white letters as well. These Zach Randolph PEs are scheduled to release today, November 18th, at Footlocker’s House of Hoops in New York ($130). More detailed pics after the jump. Via Kicks On Fire. |
Chicago House of Hoops Friday Releases
|
House of Hoops opened its third location this past weekend in Chicago, Illinois. We have heard that they have been dropping some very nice player exclusives since their opening. Earlier we showed you one of their releases in the form of Ray Allen and Joe Johnson’s Air Jordan Jumpman PEs. Tomorrow, November 13th, 2008, Chicago’s House of Hoops will be releasing three more player exclusive sneakers. The hometown Chicago Bulls are represented by Larry Hughes’s Nike Hyperdunk Supreme and Drew Gooden’s Nike Air Power Max. Both sneakers feature the Bulls colorway. Larry Hughes’s PE has the word ‘Homegrown’ written in cursive on the tongue. We have spotted Drew Gooden wearing this exact colorway of the Power Max in this specific edition of our Kicks On Court (KOC). Last but not least, the Kobe Bryant Nike Hyperdunk Snake Pool will also be released. It features a Laker-yellow upper with purple accents on the swoosh, midsole, heel and tongue. While we have yet to see KB hoop in these, we have spotted him in the Nike Hyperdunk/Nike Kobe 4 hybrid in our KOC as well. More pics after the jump. Via Footlocker Unlocked. Stay tuned for more releases. |
