Nike Sportswear Dunk High “Quilted Patent”
Nike Sportswear’s timely launch comes just as the whole world comes together to celebrate sports. Nike Sportswear, the new “brand within a brand”, takes 8 iconic items and tells the story of sports, fashion, and culture through various transformations.
One of the 5 shoes selected to be a part of the Nike Sportswear lineup is the Nike Dunk. For the Olympics the Dunks will undergo several transformations that may not have ever been thought of when the shoe first released more than 20 years ago, but is relevant and current to today’s trends. This weekend Nike Sportswear released the “Quilted Patent Octagon” Dunk at limited retailers. The theme of “8″ plays through much of the line and ties to the theme of the Olympics kicking off later this week on 08.08.08. Three of the six Olympic colors (5 rings + white background = 6 colors) are represented in this pack of Nike Sportswear Dunk Highs that are available now at Millennium Shoes. |
“Notebook” Grade School Dunks and Air Max 90
|
Last summer we saw Nike stress the importance of education by way of the “Back To School Pack” that included an Elmer’s Blue Air Max 90, Composition Notebook Dunk High, and Crayola Crayons Vandals all in men’s sizes, but for this year Nike carries the Notebook theme in grade school sizes. The Dunk Low and Air Max 90 both come in the Notebook theme complete with the Composition cover pattern and lined paper across the upper. Get your Back to School shopping done a little early this season. These are available now at The Darkside Initiative. Info from High Snobiety. |
Custom Dunks - Air Jordan 3 Black / Cement Inspired
With the release of the Air Jordan 3 - Black / Cement coming up within the Countdown Package alongside the Air Jordan 20, it is only right to preview a pair of customs which honors one of the holy grails within the Air Jordan line up. Check out these Air Jordan 3 Cement - Custom Dunks created by 2Nice Customs formerly known as TN Customs. The inspiration for these can be traced back to the Air Jordan 3 Black/Cement Grey.
The use of an original Air Jordan 3 tongue definitely tops any custom previously seen on the net, not to mention the intricate detailing, cement pattern and the lace holes with the addition of red lace eyelets! Great execution by 2Nice! Spotted on KicksOnFire. |
Capital Brand “Ba Dunk A Dunks” Shirt
Just a couple of months ago Capital Brand gave the sneaker community a good laugh with their Nike Head shirt. While that shirt is no longer obtainable, Capital is back with another shirt celebrating sneakers and the another passion some of us share. The “Ba-Dunk-A-Dunks” shirt is available in two colors and will be available online for purchase at Karmaloop’s Kazbah section. |
Nike “NBA Pack” Dunk Highs
|
With a Game 6 shellacking put on by the Boston Celtics the NBA season was complete, but don’t expect sneaker and apparel companies to sit on their hands until November to bring products to the market of basketball interest. Starting next month Nike will release a handful of Dunk Highs dressed up in NBA team colors quickly being dubbed the “NBA Dunk Pack“. While Adidas has the exclusive rights to produced licensed NBA and apparel footwear, colors aren’t off limits for Nike. So far four Dunks are known to be making it to the marketplace including inspired editions resembling the Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Phoenix Suns, and the fourth is stirring up a debate between Indiana Pacers and Golden State Warriors (who haven’t worn Navy and Yellow for a decade). Each will retail for $80 per pair. Check out all the shoes after the jump. |
Nike iD Be True Dunks Laser
|
Following the treatment that the Air Force 1 received from last year, the Dunk has been made available on Nike iD with options never seen before. While the Dunks (both high and low) have been a staple item on Nike iD for a few years, never has one had the option to personalize their shoes via lasering. The new “Be True” Nike iD Dunks permit the user to create their own Dunks by a number of colors and laser the side panel on both the outside and inside faces of the shoe. In addition to this, you can now personalize them a step further with adding “EST.” and a 4 digit number on opposite pairs. These options have been made available for both the Dunk Low and Dunk High priced at $135 and $140 respectively. You can make your own pair now at Nike iD. |
Gold/Black Nylon Dunks “Vandal Supreme”
To complete the series of three nylon Dunks that resemble the Vandal Supremes is a pair dressed in gold/black - opposite of the Black/Gold Nylon Dunks we posted just yesterday. Though this is not an original colorway of the Vandals, we still approve. Word on the street is a July release - stay tuned for more details. Pics thanks to Streetlocal 404. |
