Mita Sneakers x New Balance MT580 CMYK
It seems like every other week Mita Sneakers has an exclusive collab with a sneaker company. This is definitely not the first time Mita Sneakers has collaborated with New Balance on the MT580, but since we have seen what is in store for the MT580 Stateside, it is the first time that I have seen a Mita Sneakers MT580 that I am not that interested in.
The theme for the shoes is the CMYK color wheel that combines cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (black). The mixture of bright colors is a little too much these days and the CMYK theme has been done in failed attempts by other brands. Let us know what you think about them. New Balance MT580 2009 Preview
|
Just a few days short of the halfway mark through 2008, pics have surfaced of some of New Balance’s plans for the MT580 for 2009. The long awaited arrival of the silhouette made famous in Japan with countless collabs and great colorways made its way to the US only a few months ago but thankfully its visit won’t be short lived. These MT580s have the best features that appeal to heads as well as runners. A durable outsole and cushioning midole make for a lasting, comfortable ride. The Rollbar may provide an interesting aethetic look for heads, but this provides lateral support for the wearer. Lastly, few will complain with the lightweight and breathable mesh panels on the toebox and ankle collar. Photos from Freshness. |
New Balance CM576M Pack
New Balance is having a big year celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the 576 with new releases happening virtually every month. The latest round of 576’s released at Mita is a series of three CM576M’s with a blend of suede, mesh, and the signatory 3M reflective logo on the side. While the Purple and the Grey pair have a new flavor of style, the Navy/Grey have a distinctive old school taste to them. |

New Balance MT580 Luggage Takedown Pack
|
New Balance has teased Stateside sneakerheads for years dangling out great makeups of the MT580, but finally they are bringing the silhouette to the US in a big way. Not long ago we gave you an in depth look at the MT580’s debut to the US, but this summer will see a solid set of this shoe. The “Takedown Pack” features three pairs of New Balance MT580s dressed in materials and colors similar to the Super Team 33 Luggage Pack that was released a couple months ago. The pair on the left is inspired by modern Swiss Army luggage while the pair on the right is inspired by early 20th century steamer trunks that the European elite used when traveling across the Atlantic to America. With recent exchange rates and shipping costs 580 fans have grown accustomed to spending well over the $200 mark, but these will set you back only $100 when they arrive in August. Additional photos of each are posted after the jump made available by Crooked Tongues. |
Stussy x HECTIC New Balance CM670
Stussy and HECTIC have hooked up again for yet another collab on a New Balance sneaker. Rather than the MT580 that the two have done tons of work on, the CM670 was called into action. The two sides opted for simplicity with the traditional grey suede for most of the upper with just a little bright color added to the inside and around the ankle. Hooking back to the original color, the En-Cap have an aged vintage look as well.
The shoes will release May 31st and Stussy and Hectic in Japan for 16,590¥ ($161US). Photos thanks to Honeyee. |
Provider x New Balance 1500 Pushed Back
Due to logistical issues, the Provider make up of the New Balance 1500 has been delayed 1 week and will release on May 17th. In order to be able to purchase from abroad, you must be signed up to Provider’s mailing list. Next weekend they will give you a 1 hour window to place your order online. Though the shoes are one of our favorite New Balance sneakers to date, the price of $355AU ($333US) is just a little too rich for our blood.
Best of luck to those trying to get their pair! |
