When Sh*t Happens to Signature Sneakers

Trades, injuries, and shortcomings can really mess up companies releasing PEs!

Alife Everybody Mid Tweed

Alife Everybody Mid TweedAlife keeps things coming along with the Everybody Mid which has become the signature silhouette for the independent streetwear/sneaker company. This time they dress the shoe up with an all tweed upper so you can stay one step ahead of the crowd by starting your fall look at the start of summer. Look for these in high end stores like Bloomingdale’s and well, duh, Alife. Photos thanks to Complex.

Rivington Club x Asics Gel Lyte III

Alife Rivington Club Asics Gel Lyte IIIThere is a first for everything as the Rivington Club Asics Gel Lyte III is the first sneaker collab that the shop has done. Last October saw the release of the Alife “Monster” Asics Gel Lyte IIIs that may be remembered as the first shoe to be permanently dressed in a Halloween costume. While the market didn’t take too well to those, I am sure a more positive outcome will happen for the Rivington Club collabs. To many, the Rivington Club was the first sneaker boutique in NYC. While that is often disputed, one can’t deny that it was the first of its kind with wood paneling and a luxurious build-out that has made it a sneaker landmark since it opened in 2001.

Though originally slated to release in May, they have been pushed back to release in June. Stay tuned for more updates on this release. Info thanks to Hype Beast.

Alife Tokyo Grand Opening

Alife Tokyo Grand OpeningAlife has opened its fourth flagship shop and second international location in Tokyo. Alife becomes the third (after UNDFTD and Flight Club) American sneaker boutique/brand to make their footprint in Japan by stepping in to the retail game across the Pacific.

The new Alife Tokyo Flagship store is now open. In terms of interior design they took a different approach from their other stores and created a sleek interior made up of black colors and wooden floors. More photos posted after the jump provided by High Snobiety.

RAP - Rockwell x Alife x Patta Update

RAP Rockwell Alife Patta Everybody MidAlife has just updated us with more photos and details of the upcoming “RAP” release. The three way collab will release tomorrow, April 29th, at Patta in Amsterdam and then on Saturday, May 3rd at Alife NYC, LA, and Vancouver as well as online at RockwellClothing.com. Like any Alife collab, it wouldn’t be complete without a matching T-shirt. For this set the rectangular logo that ties all three brand together hooks to the tongue of the Everybody Mid.

Photos posted after the jump illustrate the fine details that went into this shoe including logo placement, color balance, and material mixture. How does this collab stack up compared to the other collabs Alife, Patta, and Rockwell (Parra) have done in your opinion? Leave your 2 cents. Info thanks to High Snobiety.

Rockwell x Alife x Patta “RAP” Everybody Mid

Rockwell x Alife x Patta RAP Alife Everybody MidAlife has collaborated withe friend Patta in an interesting three some that includes Amsterdam’s Rockwell. The “RAP” (Rockwell x Alife x Patta) edition Everybody Mid is one of Alife’s top collabs yet that employs their silhouette. Keeping it basic, the shoe sports a solid royal upper but multiple materials add interest blending canvas, nylon, and perforated nubuck. Red and white eyelets alternate along with other splashes of the color to make this a good shoe for the 4th of July BBQ.

The “RAP” Everybody Mid releases April 29th at Patta in Amsterdam and then May 3rd at all three Alife shops (NYC, LA, Vancouver). Photos compliments of Patta.

Alife Rivington Club x Asics Gel Lyte III Preview

Alife Rivington Club x Asics Gel Lyte III

Last October Alife and Asics came together on three make ups of the Asics Gel Lyte III.  These “monsterous” kicks were the true epitome of love/hate with more heads leaning towards the latter.  Next door at the Rivington Club, the ARC crew has worked up two colorways of the Gel Lyte III in some toned down, yet creative colors.  The pair on the left is an interesting mix with Curry/Royal Blue, with hits of the Alife Red.  Opting for something better than average, the toe box is a unique nylon paratrooper material.  The second pair is a simple yet attractive blend of greys with the only added color being the light orangish red.

According to FreshnessMag, these were designed with Asics before the Monster edition Gel Lytes, so for the picky folks, it could be argued that these were the first collab between the Alife fam and Asics.  Either way, look for these to release in May in only 216 pairs spread across the Alife shops.  No word yet if they will be made available online, but we can only hope.
