Bape Sta Aqua Socks “Sockstas”
If Nigo’s $110 Bape Sta Sandals were too rich for your blood, these might be the solution. For $70 one can have the most ridiculous item to ever feature a Bape Sta logo - aqua socks.
It has been pretty evident that for some time this brand has started falling off, but now, it is official. Bape, you had a great run - I surely will miss the good times. R.I.P. 1993-2008 |

I wouldn’t buy these slippers if they were $20. Bape needs to fire whoever came up with the not so bright idea of releasing Bape sandals and aqua socks. Stick a fork in Bape cause they’re done.

how did it die? no one’s buying ‘em? hahahaha isnt bape hot up to now? i agree that it was just a fad. bape’s style and themes are overused already. too simple, too cute that’s bape. and it’s over.
(hiphop ruined it? haha)

i don’t know about 08 matt.
I think Bape died about 06-07 when everyone started rockin those knock-off multi-pattern hoodies. The last hot concept they had was the DC comic line with the matching hoodies. They tried with the spongebob joints but the bootleggers in china already did that with the dub-zeros, and lets be honest what grown man wants spongebob sneakers? Soulja Boy also contributed to the death of bape amongst many other things *ahem, anyway, everything must come to an end eventually..
lets all have a moment of silence for a bathing ape, bape, bapy, etc.

Aqua Socks! I know got all they ideas for Nike AF1’s but then they go and run the aqua sock too that’s been dead since BBD was on the charts. Somebody needs to go ahead and get permission to disconnect the life support.
Comment by solesaved — June 30, 2008 @ 7:20 pm
soulja boy killed the whole bape scene
Comment by SteveFromVALLEJO — June 30, 2008 @ 8:52 pm

Comment by bob — June 30, 2008 @ 9:30 pm
somebody please tell me these are a joke. It makes sense though. Any company that builds its brand on jacking the design of Nike forces, air maxes etc. and using as much patent leather and bright colors as possible will eventually die. I went to the Bape LA store a couple of months back. Everything was ridiculously ugly and overpriced.

I WANNA TAKE A DUMP IN THOSE LOL
Comment by bigpinga — July 1, 2008 @ 8:39 am
Yo Bapes R hard but too damn expensive for a pair. I always stick with dunks and jordans 4 life! The Bape Company is embarassing demselves wit dese socks. Dey should make their last stand by selling all their shoes for less den 150 bucks. lol Ain’t nobody be wearin dese anymore and dey been dead since day 1. I luv patent leather but only on other fresh sneakas.
