Earlier today Jordan Brand’s Frank Cooker debuted a new Air Jordan 1, both powerful in its message and harmonious in its timing.
His Air Jordan 1 “Black Lives Matter” could very well be a custom or sample never meant to see the light of day at retail. Yet whatever they are, the black-on-black colorway sends a powerful message of unity and inclusion in a time that we need it most.
This, however, isn’t the first time Jordan Brand has created with inspiration from African-American culture. Their annual Black History Month collection is an ode to equal rights and equality. Given a potential release of this BLM Air Jordan 1, Jordan Brand would easily be the most woke sportswear company in the biz.
