When Adidas first introduced Feet You Wear in the mid-1990s, it was unlike anything else on the market. Brands were moving towards more built up visible technologies that took you further from the ground, while Feet You Wear was rooted in bringing you lower for more balance, with a setup that mimicked the shape of the foot.

More than two decades later, the brand is once again ushering in an era of podular design, only this time they’re incorporating their comfy cushioned Boost foam technology through the lifestyle lens of adidas Originals.

The new Crazy BYW — short for Boost You Wear — is exactly that. Full pods of Boost cushioning replace the original Feet You Wear configuration, providing more softness for a day’s wearing. Designed by John Guisbert and styled in simple black and white out the gate, the first edition of the new silhouette features a mix of materials along the upper. Merged together, you’ll find a ribbed neoprene toe, knit rand through the upper, mesh collar, and both a nubuck tongue and side overlay.
