Edgier than the original, the adidas NMD_XR1 ditches the aesthetic ethos of the easily reconginzable, obviously branded NMD_R1 in favor of caged construction and micro-rib knit composition. Though more complex in parts, the result is a sleeker design accomplished through sharper angles seen on the cage and slimmed TPU piece where the forefoot plug would typically appear.
