Triumphantly ushering in its third season of subversive garments and footwear that aim to provoke both above and below the surface, New York designer Alexander Wang continues his partnership with adidas Originals through a budding collection due out later this month.
Fueled by a creative methodology that finds beauty in imperfection or, more acutely, unique flaws birthed through manufacturing errors, Wang’s approach to this collection lends credence to the theory that everything is well-placed in the eye of the beholder.
The apparel collection represents the larger portion of the collection as it has in the first two seasons. Yet the debut footwear offering for Season 3 comes in the form of the AW BBall Soccer. It’s a remixed futbol silhouette with modern sensibility. Much of the upper is dressed in premium suede while footing is at a premium thanks to a Boost cushioned midsole.
adidas Originals by Alexander Wang Season 3 Drop 1 features 13 piece in all and will be available at select retailers on April 21. Wang will be teasing the collection through a live streamed road trip from LA to Coachella this weekend. Follow that adventure at @adidasOriginals and @AlexanderWangNY.
