In 2009, we saw the debut of the MLK Day inspired Nike Zoom Kobe IV and the Nike Blue Chip II, created exclusively for the observation of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Those roots have since grown into what is now known as the Black History Month Collection, which features inspirations derived from the legacy of Pan-African heritage in sports and culture.
Although a number of players debuted Black History Month exclusives a couple of weeks ago on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Black History Month is now officially underway, and we have already seen everything from Jordan Brand signatures to Under Armour exclusives draped in this year’s BHM color palettes on NBA courts. Browse through our spotlight of 2014’s BHM collection kicks on court from the likes of Ray Allen, Carmelo Anthony, Steph Curry, DeMarcus Cousins, Nick Young and LaMarcus Aldridge.
