Exclusive Interview: Hakeem Olajuwon Discusses DR34M Line & His NBA Legacy

Hakeem Olajuwon

The Dream desires to be different.

During the ’90s, in a time when Reeboks, Air Jordans and Nikes were the norm, Hakeem Olajuwon set foot in Etonics, LA Gears and Spaldings. Deviation has always drove the Dream’s direction.

“I’ve always liked the alternative,” said Dream, when asked about his constant yearning to be different. “In a market dominated by the same brands, I’d find joy in being unique.”

Hakeem’s happiness is currently embodied in the reintroduction and official launch of his upscale-yet-functional DR34M signature shoe line. Hear him explain the developmental process and qualities of the DR34M in the video below. Plus, listen to him detail specific encounters with LeBron James and Kobe Bryant and learn who he feels could benefit from working with him in the future.

I'M GETTING A PAIR!!!!!!!, WITH THE LEATHER STYLE JUST LIKE GUCCI AND LOUIS V.......I SUPPORTING THESE, WE STAND IN LINE TO BUY JORDANS AND STAY SCREAMING THE MATERIAL IS GARBAGE, BUT WE STILL BUY THEM. BUT WHEN SOMETHING COMES ALONG LIKE THIS OR "LI-NING" OR THESE. THAT ACTUALLY FEEL LIKE SHOES FROM THE 90'S OR BETTER WE DON'T SUPPORT IT. I DONT KNOW ABOUT YALL BUT I'M TIRED OF THE SAME STUFF, I MORE INTO WHAT MAKE SINCE INSTEAD OF HYPE AND STYLE.
