What?s it like when Complex?s Man of Next Year and a rap entourage invade Nice Kicks Headquarters? You?re about to find out in the first installment of #OfficeTakeover. Touching down in the Lone Star state for the last stop of the Macadelic tour, Mac Miller, Travis Porter, YG, and their respective teams took over shoe central for the better part of a day. Here?s a highlight reel of one of the wildest and most spontaneous days at NKHQ.

1:00 PM

Dressed in a wrinkled white t-shirt, baggy pajama pants, and beat up Janoskis, Mac Miller may not fit the airbrushed magazine mold of ‘Man of Next Year.’ While his star power is apparent, his demeanor is casual and confident and his conversation rings off as such. His on stage support, DJ Clockwork, proves to be a natural extension off stage, eagerly greeting everyone and chopping it up.

1:01 PM

No time is wasted by Travis Porter. Strap, Ali, Quez and crew skip to the back of the office where Shop Nice Kicks pulls its inventory from. Boxes of adidas, Jordans, Forces, and Turf trainers are eagerly opened by all and shoe talk begins to flutter. ?Do you have these?,? ?How much?,? and ?Where?? are common questions. Sneaker convo rises to outfit talk as they check out UNDFTD gear and NK shirts in the crate. The upcoming Vintage for the Vain line is also a favorite amongst the group, with Quez electing to wear one of the shirts on stage later that night.

1:23 PM

Mac mingles among the sneaker stock and bounces around the office. Laid back convo about destroyed sneakers with Brett later shifts to excited exchanges about Velvet Underground & Nico samples with Brittany. Like anyone his age, he’s on and off of his cell phone but is far from addicted. He enjoys talking, joking, and is genuinely excited to be in Austin. With that said, he’s also excited to wrap up the tour.

Mac’s been on the road for roughly two years straight. While the glitz and glam of getting the VIP treatment city to city is a feeling most of us don’t know, the truth is that tour life is taxing and it has even claimed a few sneakers. While the ?Galaxy? Foamposite destruction was well documented on Mac?s timeline and on a few other sites, he jokes openly and vividly about his favorite pair of ?Aqua? 8s that fell apart midstride at the airport. For those concerned at home, the ?Galaxys? were immediately re-copped but another pair of ?Aquas? still elude him.

1:45 PM

We want an interview with Mac, but he has one stipulation: ?If you want an interview, you?ve gotta let me buy something out of there.? Where?s ?there? you ask? The vault. Office Find of the Day favorites, Throwback Thursday topics, and Weekly Wallpaper props all originate from the 12 by 20 square foot storage space stocked with Matt?s collection he?s been honing for years. From OG Jordans to retros that went under the radar for reasons unknown, it’s all there and it?s rarely for sale.

A hospitable host but a keeper of his prized pairs, Matt opens up the vault to Mac and it doesn?t take long for him to find something. ?How much for these?,? as Mac grabs a silver box of ?Cement? 4s circa ?99. ?You don?t want to buy those, trust me, they?ll crumble,? boss man says honestly but also not willing to part with such a special sneaker. Mac continues his hunt as the two go back and forth on sneakers, the snapback craze, and misuse of the Mos Dope tagline to sell the prior.

Air Jordan 5 Black/Silver 2000 & Air Jordan 4 “Cement” 1999, vault favorites among Travis Porter & Mac Miller but not for sale

2:01 PM

After about fifteen minutes of bartering and business talk, Mac settles on an OG pair of Nike Carnivores and the Air Jordan 7 “60+ Pack”.

An OG pair of Nike Air Carnivores, the Nice Kicks x Vans collab, & this Air Jordan 7 “60+” Pack round out Mac Miller’s vault pickups
