Nice Kicks: Switching to hip-hop, the “Made You Look” freestyle caught a lot of attention and since then you’ve managed to go in over many classic tracks. Your references are far beyond your years, how do you explain that?
Diggy Simmons: That’s just always how I’ve really been, and that’s before rap. I’ve just always been beyond my years aka an old soul. That comes from the beat choices. Not even the 90s and 80s beat choices but beat selection with original stuff, my metaphors, and content. Not just things you’d normally hear today but mixing them together.
Nice Kicks: As for the album are there any ‘golden era’ producers we can expect?
Diggy Simmons: So many people. I can’t really let any out of the box. Somebody I’ve been working with is Boi1da, me and Boi1da been getting it in. For the album we got big big name producers that are gonna be on the album and the mixtape I’m working on.
Nice Kicks: When can fans expect those projects?
Album coming soon but first the mixtape in the spring.
