Football season is officially back, but that doesn’t mean all our favorite turf shoes are. While Nike has blessed us with two OG colorways of the popular Diamond Turf over the summer there’s still plenty of heat we’d like to see this fall. In anticipation of tonight’s NFL season kickoff we take a look back at the best turf shoes from the last two decades yet to be retroed. Take a look at our top six and vote in our interactive poll to let us know which pair you’d like to see back the most.

Prime Time kept ticking on the second installment of his famed DT series. The Nike Air Diamond Turf 2 picked up where the first one left off carrying over a midfoot strap and sparkling mesh. Clean lines, a chunky midsole, and bold colorways made this model even flashier and more aggressive than the first. Deion wore these shoes en route to a Super Bowl ring, Defensive Player of the Year award, and a Pro Bowl appearance. Not a bad season.

    the barrage was pretty hot, too…marshall faulk's when he was in Indy. the air max cover, too. it was the turf answer to the air adjust force. nice posting.

    The Royal/Silver and Black/Silver Barry Sanders' kicks with the strap were dope too! Nike Zoom Turf I believe….

    i really miss those Stanley the ref (Dennis hopper) commercials. But nice kicks, ya'll missed a few classics like the Rod Woodsons and the Marshall Faulks. those are must have for any turf trainer head. good post though. and those speed turf max in miami we called them Brian Cox shoes

    they missed the last pair pair of deions too! i forgot the name but i had them my freshman year in 97. they had a dallas cowboy colorway and an all black colorway. i agree with the marshall faulks and rod woodson kicks too!

    Rod Woodson's shoe that he endorsed was the Nike Air Bowl Trainer. These kicks were off the cadena!

    I voted for the Speed Turf Max because it was the one shoe that sparked my passion for zapatos and it was just a redonkulous trainer. That was 1996 and when nike churned out quality product. Fast forward to today and you are hard pressed to find a trainer like that. In short, I was the flyest MEX-I-Can in the eiff grade.

    Nike, take note of all the love for these particular trainers. Give the people what they want instead of a new/ unsolicited blazer /dunk colorway every day. Thats played out.

    NIKE if you are viewing this blog ( which you definately are), if you guys decide to wise up….bring back the ORIGINAL COLORWAYS IN ALL OF THESE MODELS. That is all.

    Replace the Air Mission with any of Barry Sanders shoes, Air Zoom Turf series, in any of their colors. Royal/Silver, Black,White, All White, ANY of them!

    I would love to see the Air Zoom Jet and the Air Speed Turf Max come back in the original black/silver/white colorway!

      i have to co-sign…the es 22's ('97 emmitt smiths) are so underrated. they are to this day one of my favorite shoes of all time, and easily a top 5 reebok release. they were bulky as most turf shoes are, but they were extremely comfortable and certified neck breakers in the pearlized blue/white colorway with the icey soles. to me, they looked like the question's football playing brother. i'd def cop if reebook retroed those.

    Man, I remember watching John Wallace hoop for Syracuse in those Air Speed Turf Maxes, black/white colorway, all the way to the NCAA finals. Made me play in trainers from then on. Well, until I saw John Stockon playing in Agassi's. Both held up on the court.

    i cant wear turf shoes. soles too tacky (thats the point of course). make the non-football version of turf shoes and i bet NFL players get signatures and contracts just like them NBA ballers.

    Wasn't the Ubiquitous actually a Roy Jones Jr. sponsored shoe when it was first released? During his pre-Jordan days…

    And the Speed Turf Max should best be remembered being on the feet of stud John Wallace as he carried the Syracuse Orangemen to the 1996 Final Four. They prob would have won if he'd played in actual hoop shoes!

    the DT2s are at the top of my list. i remember my freind who lived across the street from me had the white/black/red colorway and as much as i hate to admit it, i was pretty jealous.

    but at least i had the Bowl Trainers, Rod Woodson's shoe. i would also love to see those make a comeback. And oh yeah, the Air Missions and the Zoom Jets will also be appreciated.
