I Love College: Sweet 16 'Carolina Blue' Air Jordans

Michael Jordan might have put black and red into the closets of many, but before rocking with the Bulls, MJ was doing his thing in Carolina repping the Pantone 248 ‘Carolina’ blue. With some upcoming Jordans in this hue of blue, the Nice Kicks staff dug into the archives to find some of the best Air Jordan sneakers that made pays some homage to MJ alma mater.

    I have the nubucks, and personally they r my favorite 12 of all time. See I live 15 mins from the hill and bleed carolina blue. Best ones on here tho… those moto 5′s. WOW id pay 200 for those now

    Man this is like a wish list. Wouldn’t mind having any of these. Got the French blue 7, nubuck 12, and the white and Carolina low 6′s. But where are the blue and Carolina 5′s?? Love the list tho!!

    I love Those XVII’s and both pairs of XI’s. Where’s da love for da wht/Carolina XV’s or da XVIII’s lows? How bout da blk/Carolina V’s, carolina/blk XX’s, chambray VII’s, or French/Flint/Carolina XIII’s? C’mon now, these deserve more recognition than da “For the Love of The Game” IX’s.

    can't agree with #16. the "for the love of the game" IXs. The black/carolina Vs should have been on here. or the white/carolina XVs. The rest of the list is good though. completely agree with #1. all you other people probably don't, you AJXI d*** riders.

    french blue 7's got this, the navy blue on the bottom is that little detail that was missing on the magic 7's that and the tongue is what kept me from keeping them, JB please retro the original CW soon, and man the hunt for the XI's gets crazier ery year now haha hope i can cop the Cool Greys with no prob also. CANT WAIT!!!!!!

      DTRT's are a royal blue and were inspired by Spike Lee's movie which came years after MJ played for the Heels. None of the Melos were included because the carolina shoes he had were inspired by the colors of the Denver Nuggets and not UNC.

        to further up on this, the actual shoe themselves is the columbias, but the columbias did not feature that baby blue accent on the heel. Only the Titanium XX3s had that color around the ankles.

    The motorsports are worth about 3000 I seen them on eBay a while ago. Probably even more now. And those 1′s must b worth some crazy cash!! I doubt they’ll release the Columbia 11 since they made the anniversary 11. They’re very similar. But them again Jordan likes taking our money so they just might!! The low 14′s are one of my favorites. I just bought a vnds pair from a guy for 65. Good looking out I’ve been hunting for those. Too bad there was a few nice J’s that didn’t make the list. Maybe next time. Good list tho.

    I don't understand how the Nike AJ1 "Alphas" didn't make the countdown.For goodness sake this pair is screaming UNC powder blue all over it.On top of that,it has Michael Jordan's picture on the side shooting a jumpshot when he was playing college ball.I think this particular pair should've gotten the #1 spot on the list instead of the "Titanium" AJ23s.

    NK, u c the error of your ways making those titaniums #1! SMH Look at the voting. Normally I think when people jump on the 11s bandwagon, they do it just because they feel as though they have to. But in this case, the Coulmbia 11s are by far the greastest UNC themed Jordan. The first time I wore them back in college, I turned every head!

    People who are saying they should have put the militaries are just stupid!! They color is in the name “military” blue not Carolina blue or university blue. Have y’all even seen them in person?? Not even close to Carolina. But the mist 4′s coulda made the list. That is baby blue!

    The “for the love of the game” IX’s, the I’s and the XXIII’s should have not
    even made the list…they were horrible…but both ofthe XXII’s and the VII’s were the
    best hands down
