Nike Air Max Uptempo III

The Air Max Uptempo III will be included in the hardy holiday releases of retro Nike Basketball product. The shoe bears many of the design cues of the 90s Nike Basketball golden era and, resultantly, will provide ample nostalgia for many.

Those nostalgic ones will likely connect this shoe with Scottie Pippen who wore them frequently during the 96-97 season. To Pippen, the Uptempo IIIs probably played similar to his first signature shoe as they share essentially the same sole as the Air Pippen 1. The hefty resemblance can be seen in the full-length air unit divided by one peak sprouting from the outsole as well as the concentric rings tread on the forefoot section of the outsole.

    Freakin awesome. I remember when these dropped, and a bunch of the Nike B-ball kicks around that era had the Air logo in the wavy writing – there was a bit of uproar in the islamic community regarding the font as it almost resembled the arabic word for hell.

    They're really starting to come back with some real fire retro shoes like the Bo Jackson's, the Air Carnivore, we finally got the pennys back, and even these old Pippen's but I would like to know why do they cost more now than they did when they were originally released? I'm waiting on the foamposites that Michael redd wore early on in his nba career to come back out those were on some new age shit right there. Space age before there time.

    Nike's basketball sneakers of the mid to late 90s look very bulky by today's standards. My brother and I had a lot of them when they originally released and they were cool at that time, but when retro'ed they look unusually bulky.
