In Retrospect: Nike Air Yeezy Zen Grey/Light Charcoal
Around this time last year , the Zen Grey/Light Charcoal colorway of the Nike Air Yeezy released nationwide (specifically, it dropped on April 4th, 2009). It ultimately became one of, if not the best sneaker release of 2009.
Were you able to get your hands on the Nike Air Yeezy Zen Grey/Light Charcoal and was it worth the $215? If you did not get a chance to purchase it or you passed up on the opportunity, are you wishing you would have snagged them? Nike released two more colorways of the Air Yeezy after this one; is the original colorway the best yet? Last but not least, was this one of your favorite Nike releases of 2009? OH how i wish they would re realease this !
I Def. love the Yeezy, but unfortunately I was not able to get a pair…BUT I’m still dying to get them

I wish they woul throw these back. I never got a chance to cop a pair but I think the Zen colorway and the Amazing colorway are the two best. But I would grab any colorway if I had the opportunity because the Nets are good lookin too. These were hands down the best release of 2009.
i wish i had gotten these instead of raging bulls, i regret it every day…smh
I cant say that this shoe (or the black pair or the tan pair) weren't HOT but in retrospect this is an ugly shoe. it really is. its doin too much. the black pair is the best lokin of the 3. but i dont do pink sneakers.

Man I live in the UK so finding sneakers like these are so hard to get without getting them shipped from the US. Anyway there was this one site which had them for £150, but I didn’t buy them, they were just there my size n all ahh everyday goes by and the regret… Jheez
I always thought they looked like the 3's from the soles and now that I coincidently have a spizike on my desk I can now see that it COMPLETETLY has the bottom of the 3 AND the toe box. So to me its just a fusion of the Sky top Flight, the strap from the Jordan 20 and the Jordan 3 soles and toe box. Kanye, your so original.
The black and pink yeezys are gorgeous, I want a pair so badly, these were my wallpaper on my phone and my laptop for how long ! Up in toronto only a couple guys sold it ds after for 900+ so I wasn’t planning on copping ! I’m hoping they re-release these !
I hear there is a 4th colorway dropping in the near future. a Niketown employees told me about the upcoming release
still and always it wont be worth it, mabe if i copped them when they first dropped now there just whatevers not too important, the pink black colorway is different though those are never gonna get old.
I didnt have time to camp out and I couldnt afford resale. I would definately cop this colourway if they rereleased.
also I haven't seen anyone wearing them so I wouldnt have to worry bout ppl having the same kicks as mee. I want theeseee
i have to say being a huge fan of kanye and this being the only sneaker nike has made for some one who is not an athlete makes it one of the dopest shoes ever…..i actually slept out for 2 days for these and ended up paying way above retail for the rest all in total 6 pairs…..i have to say it was well worth it the comfort and quality of the sneaker is great and when i still wear them i still draw attenion

they really need to release these asgain in the three original colorways again for the original price of $215. i never got to cop a pair and ive been trying to get them ever since.

I'm actually suprised that I haven't seen a single fake except for a guy who bought them at my school (not even in one of the 3 real colorways). Every time he wears them I laugh lol. But then again I live in Colorado. They don't have any select retailers or anything, only a Niketown in Denver. There are probably loads of them on the streets of New York or Houston.
I like Kanye as a producer, but not as a rapper and i never bought into the hype of these AJ 3/5 frankensteins.

I got them black/ pink joints a few months back. Cost me an arm and a leg but worth every penny. Purchased a several kicks in 09 but I gotta say (in my opinion) these were the best of 09.

i swore i left a comment. these are ugly. if you dont like them ugly "grape" spizikes with all the perforations then i dont see how you could like these. they both high-top with mis-matched colors. i love kanye's music but this shoe still is all hype. i am too much of a sneakerhead to be cravin these.

the black and pink pair would be a hot spring release though. they might as well give kanye an endorsement and keep the money coming in. imagine A YEEZY FOR EVERY CD HE RELEASES. only for like 3 or 4 years though
Really do wish I could've gotten a pair of the Yeezy's. These were so "serious" to some, amid the Swine Flu scares, people were STILL out coppin!

i did not get my pair still looking around for these or the black and pinks willing to pay 250-300 maybe a little bit more but i wish nike would re-release these also im mad i didnt get a pair but that is what happens when you live in a town with no stores for real should of went to chicago to get these but didnt know where to go im mad all over again lol

i work in the operating room and i wear my Net/Net joints with my scrubs (with shoe covers of course). THE most comfortable shoe i own thats not an air max. the leather quality…..incredible. i still want the OG color. camped out for both those and the blacks and it was always the person in front of me who got the last pair EVERY time. but my boys shipped me the Tan joints from Commonwealth so i was straight. would love for these to come out in other colors. the money is worth it unlike people paying 500+ for jordans and foams that aren't even comfortable all the time. i even HOOPED in mine to see how they felt…..man!!!
