The adidas Rod Laver is a staple silhouette in the genre of casual, simple and classic sneakers. Though we’ve seen its simple silhouette carry many a colorway, but the black pair we saw in our Summer 2010 Preview was a favorite among readers. That shoe has become available through online retailer Sneakersnstuff.

Black mesh is used for the most of the upper, with the exception of the leather on the midfoot and toe. A white midsole is used for support, while a gold tongue label breaks up the black and white look.

Why couldn’t they make the sole black too? It will get dirty fast.

They need to stop with these Laver releases that aren’t real Lavers. Adidas has so many shoes that look exactly alike, minus a few MINOR details, and they call them different styles. The Rod laver I know has a different heel piece, sole, and addition of a toe cap. These are LARGE differences. The consortium packs are wack.
