Do you have any deadstock sneakers or are you the type to wear everything you buy? When we showcased our Sneaker Synopsis: Death of Deadstock feature, there was a lot of different view in the comment section pertaining to deadstock. Now, REE has given his take on deadstock through his second edition of SN’EADS, a sneaker inspired comic strip.

As you can see, a fairly, new consumer purchases the Air Jordan 6 Retro Black/Red and calls them his ‘grails’ (oh yeah, to the little guy in the back, the “Motorsports” 6s are all gone buddy). Next, a rather older sneaker enthusiasts takes a look at these 6s and notices something suspicious about them.     ya their dead stock, aka – once you wear them they fall apart… dead stock is wack why save a sneaker for 10 years and never wear them. when you do decide to put them on the sole falls right off or they crack in half… dead stock is dead. ive worn them all from OGs in the 80s and 90s too todays retros… wear them!!!!!!

    Dead stock dead? Don’t think so. People just don’t like dead stock cause they can’t afford em. Still got plenty of heat from 99-2000 and they aren’t even close to fallin’ apart. Can’t stand how these new kids buying these replica J’s like the new black/red 6′s thinking they’re the same as the og. shame on u new cats!

    and i still do NOT understand why you ppl spend 150+ just to have them sit in your closet and never see the light of day. WEAR YOUR S#!T! it’s so pointless to do that and waste your money. and last time i checked shoes were meant to be worn on your feet, not sit in a box. seriously it’s like buying a comic book and not reading it and just leaving it in storage.

    As I have said time and time again. Some people are stupid. Man I wear every shoe I buy. I mean from the Foamposite Pennys to the Retro VIs I got. I don’t need to hold shoes hostage in a closet to make dough. WEAR THE DAMN SHOES!!!!

    I stock my shoes for a min not because I’m tryna sellm in 10 years moree cause I’m not tryna rock them while everone else is. Plus these females don’t know the difference between varsity/infared so it’s all good to me.

    I got both the VI’s og’s and the infra… and they are F*ckin great kicks, deadstock doesn’t exist in my closet even I do owe the entire OG’s and Retros… they all felt the freshness of my feet indeed… well all I can say is “RESPECT THE KICKS, WEAR THEM OR TEAR THEM”

    Pretty funnny to be honest @Jarjarbinks.I somewhat agree with that statement. I’d rather let you(not you personally) F your kicks up and when i rock em they will make more of an impression, cause they will be cleaner.. and therefore ,fresher than your beat up pair. I do wear my sneaks,but some pair just deserve to jus chill for a little bit.

    I wear everything!!! From ogs to retros..I still wear ma playoff 13s and cool grey xis and u know what they still 9.5/10..no they not ds but I ain’t a lil kid, when I’m done wearin em..clean em and thro em back in da box..no creases done..u take care of ur kicks then u can wear em as much as u want and still hold em fresh and if they still fresh in years to come and u decide to sell em make it happen! They don’t need to be ds to make a come up

    YEA THEIR NOT INFRARED, BUT WHY WOULD I SPEND $300+ ON A SNEAK THAT WILL PROLLI FALL APART ON ME. YEA I LOVE THE INFAREDS, BUT IM NOT ON THE WHOLE DEADSTOCK MOVEMENT.
    I PAID $150 FOR THE 2010 VI’S THAT’LL LAST PROLLI 5-8 YEARS.

    I’ve been wearing Air Jordans and Nikes since 1986 and there’s no way that I’d be able to keep hot sneakers just to look at them – I can’t resist wearing them. The pleasure I get from wearing them is more than I’d get from just displaying them, plus they’d deteriorate anyway after some years. I might as well use them.

    LMAO!!! This was funny!! I wear every shoe that I buy. I do buy extra pairs of my favorite releases (i.e. true blues, varsity red 6′s, I won a pair of coralines and bought another pair on ebay). I don’t keep them for deadstock purposes though. I keep them as backup just in case the 1st pair that I have gets ruined, stolen, etc…. Its a waste of time and $ to cop kicks and leave them stored in a closet solely for the purpose of having a deadstok pair. Shoes are meant to be worn. Its just like this 2003 mustang that I recently inherited from my uncle. This car is FRESH and FAST. However, he never drove it. He would wash it, look at it all day admiring its beauty, then he would throw the car cover back on it. Im like WTF?!?! When i got it from him, I hit the highway and gunned it. Thats really what a mustang wants the driver to do cuz its a mustang!! LOL!! Also, I have one complaint, and actually its the same complaint that I have with Nike. Please start re-releasing retros in the OG version. I liked the varsity red 6′s and I copped 2 pair, but I really wanna see the OG versions come back!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!

    Man if you see a shoe an you like em buy them hoes as long as they are not fakes, don’t worry about these lames talkin bout oh it’s varsity red so I’m not getting them GTFOH. Rock your ish, keeping a shoe deadstock for a decade is wack. You gonna end up dead without even wearing your shoes. I have some deadstock shoes that I have had for a couple years thats just cause I have alot of sneakers an I havent gotten fits for all of them yet. I’ll get around to rocking em, but Rock your ish people!

    I gotta say that I love the COMMENTARY going on here.
    This is what I believe ART is supposed to do.
    Get a reaction from people that goes beyond what’s on the surface.
    Trust me, I take time to research my subjects and to tell jokes that it seems 90% of the commenters get,
    but, what I really want to do is engage people to start TALKING.

    It’s really a longer conversation to talk about all of the points I’m trying to bring up in the limited amount of time the comic medium gives you,
    but, you the readers have started that conversation for me and that’s what makes this ENDURE
    regardless of how you feel about it.

    I’m pretty neutral when it comes to deadstocking.
    My favorite shoes, I buy in multiples simply becuz I love the shoe and never NOT want a fresh pair when one dies. Air Jordan 3s, 4s, and 11s are a prime example of that for me.
    Otherwise, everything, with a few exceptions, is one and done.

    You did it again REE I love the cooper strip and I love this one even more… mainly cause I’m a deadstock sneakerhead… and the vi’s and iv’s are my favorite I got a thing for the suede/Nubuck that’s nor here or there… I have og’s and retros and re retros I wore my OG’s and some of my retros so cats no my jordan game is ill… Now I just collect and wear sneakers that are comfortable

    Ya’ll might call me crazy but I actually ball in my mikes at least once. That’s what theyre intended for, right? I will say this as far as retros, you cant break necks like you used to. You know the “yo, where’d you get those!” type of effect! I mean once in a while, it still happens, makes you feel good a lil bit like when I had on my Atlantic Blue Penny II’s, alot of people were stopping me. But now, they re-release everything so that response has been diminished. Other than that I dont care, if you like the sneaker, buy it, wear it! The reason why people buy a certain sneaker should be a personal thing anyway.

    Never had the OG space jams. Got ‘em didn’t give 1 F* about the similarities or dissimilarities, rocked ‘em hard in snow, deep winter in minneapolis, now still they look fresh better than alot ppl who just got em. Rock my OG griffeys hard they still love. I think when you be worried if you wear ‘em they gone die, then you need Deadstock!

    I have OG Jordan XIII Playoffs from 1997, Greatest Jordan of the series!

    Best looking Jordan, Best themed Jordan, the hologram is fire!

    I ball in them pretty regularly, but only indoor. I wear them in rotation outdoor, and they still crispy enough that people ask me if their new!

    Although I must say, I WOULD LOVE to see my babys get retro’d so I can retire my OG’s for good.
