Reggie Miller may never have gotten himself an NBA Championship ring, but his Nike Air Total Max Uptempo sneaker was definitely a winner. Originally released in 1997, this hoops shoe featured full-length Air Max technology and came in a number of nice colorways, including Black and Volt. The colorway we’re seeing here though, is new for 2010.

Black nubuck is used for the midfoot and toe, working directly down the middle. On either side, black leather is the material of choice. Varsity Red is the chosen accent color for the outsole and mid-panel Swoosh. Expect these sometime in the near future.

    The nubuck kills a perfectly good shoe. Almost looks like they come used.

    I gotta agree with what others say about the use of nubuck – it’s gotta stop.
    It should only be used to cover a shoe in its entirety, or not at all.
    But even when using it all over the shoe, Like the Jordan XII bred retro, it looks pretty dull.
    I’d rather a synthetic blend was used before nubuck.
    Nubuck just gets used because it’s cheap, and it shows.

    i think the nubuck adds for contrast but yes, it makes the shoe look very cheap. i just think the black and red combo is kinda played out and way too easy to impress. clean shoe, safe colorway.

    They’re hott, but the Black and Volt is the best colorway in Nike Uptempos. Next up is the Black and Silver colorway soon to drop sometime in 2010!

    Umm I’m glad I have the Black/Volt Uuptempos. But these are alright.. Silver/Black will be copped when they drop though!
