Release Reminder: Air Jordan Alpha 1

This Saturday, January 16th, 2010, Jordan Brand will unleash one of their more highly-anticipated sneakers in the form of the Air Jordan Alpha 1 for $125.

We showcased this particular sneaker in our 10 Sneakers We’re Looking Forward to in 2010, and many of you agreed. First and foremost, the Air Jordan Alpha 1 is what started it all; however, it has been updated with performance-ready features such as a full length Zoom Air bag and perforated leather. It also contains minimal stitching and a mesh inner lining. If you recall, Dwyane Wade, Ray Allen and Jared Jeffries wore this sneaker a few times in Kicks On Court. Who else cannot wait until tomorrow?

I love the construction of these, but I’m going to wait for the white/red/black. That was the color of my first 1s and I want to try and recreate that feeling with some Alphas.

they seem very nice and i like the concept of updating older models with newer technology for improved functionality. if the comfort and performance are greatly improved i would consider buying this or the white-red-black ones. can anyone report on how they feel on your feet?

These shoes are a start of a new era of The Jordan Brand. As it started from the beginning with the numerals. These are the start of the greek alphabet. Progressing each with an updated design from its predecessor. Examples be that Jordan 1 would be now the Jordan Alpha and Jordan 2 would be the Jordan Beta so on and so forth. Just something to look forward in the near future. You think about that Jordan was the first person in history to control the shoe game and has it on lock.
