The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

The last week of September and into the first week of October brought us a nice mixture of kicks. We got a chance to see what Jordan Brand has in store for us during the remainder of 2009 and into the beginning of 2010. In addition, we spotted some nice things from the other brand and saw a preview of Kicks On Court. However, a couple of shoes surfaced on our site that made us want to puke on the computer screens. With that said, click here to see the sneakers we picked in our Good, Bad and Ugly sections.

The Good – Nike SB Blazer “Chuck Taylor”

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Nike SB Blazer "Chuck Taylor"

Anytime a company can use a classic of its own, apply exact inspirations from another memorable sneaker not included in the brand and make it look very fresh is extraordinary. This SB Blazer was very well executed to say the least. The Converse Chuck Taylor was represented quite well in this design. We must tip our hat to Nike for executing this to the tee. Who else wants to see this sneaker actually release?

To be honest, the good isn’t all that hot, but its cool… great way to pay homage to Chucks
Do agree with the kobe’s – The black mamba CW was sick – but too many CW’s now
    The Reeboks are horrible…

    Have a blessed day people

  • ad24

    those blazers are straight fire!!!

    hope they release soon.

and i have never liked the kobe 4′s and i never will no matter what colorway they release. and reebok, good idea, but bad execution

the Reebok looks like a Payless version of the Yeezy. As if Nike’s version wasn’t bad enough.

What a waste of time, effort, and money. Good job, Reebok. You haven’t done a thing in 25 years. How are you still in business?

  • Quan

To me, the chucks taylors arent that excellent
They look nice yeah, but I wouldnt buy em

To me, damn near every kobe sneaker looks horrible to wear, but thats just my opinion. Wouldnt even wear em playing ball

    NOW
    these gucci reeboks EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Reebok haas been down for some years, and they keep digging their hole even deeper. Cmon man, whats the last pair of reeboks you bought?

  • greenmaker24

    the reeboks are pretty ugly

  • YOUR FACE512

CMON the Reeboks arent that ugly
there is way more ugly shoes out there

  • haux

to be honest i’ve never seen anybody with kobe 4′s on.

  • GenoBaby

I must admit… I’m actually feeling the Reebok Gucci. It reminds me too much of the Yeezy’s but I would actually rock it… sue me.

  • meth

    this list is kinda wack

  • im fly

man my shoe is coming look out ya

  • hahaa

imma huge blazer fan… but these SBs aren’t that dopee

  • danield6

lol @ kobe write up. yes, it’s true. too much of one thing is bad enough. even though it’s a nice looking shoe. same thing can be said about the new lebrons. i’m sure that model will have tons more CW/styles by the last quarter next year. it’s like a release, a retroed and re-retroed all at the same time in one timeline.

    Dem KiKKZ go HarD.

I agree with the over-saturation of colorways. Many people know and remember the majority of OG Jordan colorways because there wasn’t 80 of them per signature. The fact that there are less than a handful of OG colorways for a lot of classic signature basketball shoes is part of the luster. But in the time we are currently in, it works. But who honestly is going to remember every single one of the LeBron VII and Kobe IV colorways 10 years from now?

Of course the shoes that are worn on court will have a special place, but how do we separate the iconic from the fly-by-night colorways when there are so many of them? On the flipside, the gradient Kobe IV’s are fire. I honestly think they are some of the better Kobe IV’s. In my opinion, amongst the top Kobe IV’s and could easily be remembered years from now. I don’t consider them “bad” at all.

  • quedog n the atl

The Ques love ‘em. We’ll buy em. Just keep making them in purple and gold !

  • Dame

Reebok tryin to cash in on a gucci colorway and yeezy design lol nice try but no dough!

  • CZAR SANCH

Real Talk I like these. Although I do wish they would have put more green and red on em’.

  • jg

I don’t like the Reeboks at all but… “The shoe itself has nothing to do with Gucci”
So? Do any of the other Gucci colorway shoes have anything to do with Gucci itself?

  • bob g

Reebok’s Ex-o-Fit SG released to market 6 months before Yeezy’s were even designed……

Look it up! Gucci colorway not a fan, but overall a decent set of kicks for under $100

  • atomicsushi

Kobe IV is getting pretty bad

  • Jaquice

This is not there best work

  • d.knott01(detroit fresh)

you guys need to do some research. the yeezy borrowed from a host of kicks. true indeed they are dope but lets hop off their sack for a moment.

  • QUAKECITY

Aren’t those the HUF x Nike SB blazers that released late last year? Was this a typo or are they re-releasing the same exact shoe with a different name?
