2009 has been an anniversary year for many brands such as Nike ACG and Lakai. Add Pro-Keds to the list. As part of its 60th Anniversary this year, Pro-Keds will be releasing its classic Royal Low in five different colorways.

Each sneaker is inspired by the members of the Pro-Keds All-Pro sponsored former NBA players. They include Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (dark green), Jo Jo White (green), Bob Love (red), Lou Hudson (red) and Nate Archibald (blue). Each sneaker also contains a 100% nubuck upper. Via Hypebeast.

Do some research. Pro Keds was the hottest sh*t out back in the day. Standard gear for all NYC hip hop heads for years. Many consider pro keds 69ers (AKA Uptowners)the hottest shoe ever.

The entire line up is fire! I’m a Old School Queens, NY Kat and the Pro Keds were always hott! We wore the Royals as little kids and graduated to Uptowns a little later. Anyone hating on this new release is hating on our Old School heritage! We all wore these until we were ballin’ enough to have Shell Toe Adidas or Puma Clydes! Absolute Fire!!! I want all the flavors!
