I think it’s pretty rad. A well-respected designer working with a brand that has given back to skateboarding over the years by having shoes that are actually (gasp!) affordable. Usually when shoe companies work with outside “artists” it’s the skaters that suffer…I personally don’t have the $ to be shelling out 100-120 dollars for a pair of kicks. Plus I’m all about the old school. =)

dope! I saw airwalk working with teh hundreds a few years back and was wondering if they were gonna keep rollin with the collabs. Looks like they’re making a comeback, been seeing airwalks everywhere lately.

No props to Airwalk here- Nike made identical shoes to what is shown in the first photo back in the early 80′s- A kids tennis model made of felt tennis ball material and a hi-top basketball shoe made out of orange pebble. Just imagine these same shoes with a Nike swoosh…for real! (They also made a soccer ball shoe)

If you guys did your proper research, you’d realize these are not prototype samples. Just read Staple’s blog post. “Well, since its leaked anyway, here’s some snapshots from recent R+D meetings.”
R+D means research and development. These look more like archival samples and not actual designs. You guys want to say PREVIEW just to get the web hits. Journalistic integrity…eh, who cares…just put whatever will make the kids click on.
