Nike Air Griffey MaxWhen Ken Griffey Jr. was in his prime he was an awesome fielder, had a canon arm, was a smooth base runner, and a swing so perfect it earned him his nickname “Swingman.” Back when he first signed his Nike contract “Junior” got his own signature shoes and they were some of the best looking pieces of sole to be made for the Mariner bomber.  Finally, after years of waiting, and major career accomplishments achieved, the Griffeys are coming back.

The first catalog images of the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 made it to the web showcasing the original Seattle Mariner’s colorway. Griffey has been wearing player exclusive versions of the Air Griffey Max this season which lifted many eye brows in the sneaker circle.

    yoo i been waitin for these to drop since forever. when the retros startin droppin like the penny 2′s and the godzilla’s, i knew nike had to drop these gems soon.

    Man these take me back. Griffey, A-Rod and the Big Unit. What a squad. I remember I had a GriffeyxNike book cover with the “Presidential” campaign. “Walk softly, but carry a 32oz bat.” Good times.

    Oh MY!!!! I gotta cop these. These take me back to a wonderful year of summer ’96 when I got these when I was kid. Funny thing is that I got these for a family reunion that was held in my hometown, and now the reunion is returning to my hometown after 14 yrs and I will have the shoes to go along!

    Honestly I still have the originals in my basement lol. Like two years ago Dillards was selling these for 10 bucks. My best friend bought like 8 pair and tossed me one. Im glad Nike are bringing back the classics from the 90′s cause I dont know what the hell they are making now.

    People retail on these is $140.I want both but i can only afford one. I think the black and white joints look way better. But thanks nike for bringing some classic stuff back.
