2007 Top Ten Sport Footwear Styles
The SportsOneSource Group has released the U.S. retail Top Ten Sellers for 2007 in the branded Sport Footwear Category based on the retail point-of-sale data compiled by the company’s SportScanINFO service. Rankings are determined by sales.
For the third straight year, The Nike Air Force 1 dominated the category without any surprise consider that last year Nike celebrated the model’s 25th Anniversary with more than 150 releases. Other familiar names at the top are the Jordan 8s and Jordan Spizikes, but something that should be noted and applauded is the New Balance 992 rounding off the top 10 list. What is a great story about this shoe making the top 10 is that it is produced at home in the USA. In a times with questionable economic times and more and more jobs going overseas, it is great to see that an American made sneaker makes the top 10. The full list is posted after the jump with the photo, name, and retail price of each model. |

#1 Nike Air Force 1 - $85

#2 Timberland 6″ Premium Wheat Nubuck - $150

#3 Mens Asics GT 2120 - $95

The

I used to work for a shoe store that specialized in technical running shoes and the NB992 is the most overrated technical running shoe ever. It’s uncomfortable and lacks any advanced cushioning. I got a pair for free and hated them. Then I put an insole in them and it didn’t help. I will sell these to anyone that wants them in a size 13.0. There are a bunch of shoes better than it and are head-to-head competitors like…
Brooks Trance
Nike Equalon
Asics Kayano
All NB’s tech shoes are overrated and they spend most of their advertising dollars to go to conventions to tell foot doctors to push their products. Their midsole material is the stiffiest material in a running shoe.

wow chill on the NB hate. If you worked at a Tech store then you know not to sell the 992 as a tech running shoe. The Nb version of the shoes you mention is the 1223, which is a good shoe. So don’t slam the 992 for no reason.

If you from DC OR MD then the 992 would be number one instead of ten. But hey to be one of the most bought shoes worldwide in a yr is a big deal especially outside of Nike or Jordan.

Out of ten of those sneakers . Only 4 of those where worn in 2007.. The others no one wore those bangers or those reeboks those shocks or even those nb at all those sneakers are garbage. They could of put alot of way better sneakers that were used…

I’m a college professor and I’d be the 1st to tell you…9 out of every 10 students from Northern Virginia, D.C. and Maryland place the 992 above any other sneaker. For them it is stiched into their culture’s fabric. I can always guess where they’re from by checking out their shoe game.

I’m from VA and although I dont get down with the NB’s I see a lot of people wearing them. But the bangers? I dont remember seeing anyone wear them.

I like the shoes that made the list, it’s not surprising to see the VIII’s and AF1’s there. I do like the selection of the 992’s though, the comfort and overall design of those kicks is great.

being a sneakerhead, for 2007 i would say the most popular shoes were dunks and im suprised not to see these at number one or even on the list at all. whit air force ones are beggining to get played, even though for me its pretty manditory to have a pair. not very surprised to see the 8s, i mean everyone and they mama had them under they christmas tree lol. alot of better sneakers could of been put up instead of thoses new balences, bangers, and those asics. wtf? way better sneakers could of been put up. just my opinion
